The valley of Fergana
This region, covered in greenery, is one of the greenest parts of Central Asia tightly closed in by the Tien Shan and Alay-Pamir mountains, watered by the Syr Darya river with beautiful landscapes. The Valley of Fergana is the “bread-basket” of Central Asia.
In times past Fergana was famous for its fruits and especially for its “mythical and celestial” horses, which were much sought-after by the Chinese for their resistance and speed.
